Ciara Ashley Johnson is a self taught interdisciplinary artist and visionary based in Los Angeles.

After surviving a life altering brain surgery, Ciara turned to art not just as a form of expression but as a form of meditation. What was first seen as freehand linework grew into a deeper philosophy - Rulerless - a name born from her ability to draw perfectly straight lines without a ruler, but more deeply, a metaphor for living.

Her connection to freehand geometry began much earlier in high school, long before she had the language or perspective to define it.

In recent years, Ciara and Rulerless have grown alongside one another, each shaping the other in unexpected ways. Through this process, she’s come to recognize that Rulerless has never been separate from her, it’s simply a reflection of how she has always moved through the world: unbound, instinctual, and deeply rooted in personal truth.

Raised far from convention, her creativity has always been both sanctuary and compass.

Rulerless began as personal therapy and evolved into an expansive creative ecosystem: from original artwork and geometric abstractions to textile designs, limited edition apparel, poetic writing, and immersive visual storytelling. At its core, Rulerless champions liberation - emotional, creative, and spiritual- inviting others to break out of imposed blueprints and embrace their unique journey.

Ciara’s work embodies bold vulnerability, symmetry without restriction, and color as emotion.

Through Rulerless, she is creating a brand that is more than a product, it's a lived experience. With quiet expansions underway, including a manifestation based digital experience and the early roots of a future forward community space for youth, Rulerless remains both a personal evolution and a collective invitation: to live artfully, deeply, and on your own terms.
