Rooted in Becoming

Have you ever loved something so badly, even in its earliest stages?
You just hold it in your mind and eventually start letting it grow outside yourself.
Time passes, and sometimes you leave it, but it never leaves you.
You always return to it because it becomes a vision you just can’t remove.
It becomes your obsession, and you have to see it through.
Slowly, you start to let it bloom more outside yourself.
You map things in your head but never quite believe you can have it as you imagine.
Time keeps moving, and still, you don’t let it go.
You nurture it, begin to master it, and realize the seed that was planted now has deep roots and a full trunk with branches growing from it.
But it’s been winter, and you think you’ll never see its leaves.
Then you remember, spring always comes, even if not soon.
You start to believe in yourself again, and the visions grow rapidly as you continue to water its roots, lie with it, love it.
Something sparks inside you, and you no longer think you aren’t deserving.
You let it stretch its limbs further.
Branches continue to grow as you practice, stay consistent, and believe.
You realize nothing can stand in its way of becoming.
You’d die holding up its trunk if you had to.
Before you know it, it’s become its own little meadow of growth, almost ready for viewers to see.
The worries never stop, and it can get very lonely.
But it’s yours, and you are its.
Stay there, for as long as it takes.
Believe in its luscious green meadow because in your mind, heart, and soul, you see it so clearly.
It’s just taking its time to grow strong.
Stronger than you ever thought possible.
But now you just know.
That’s how I feel about Rulerless.

Ci
